If you have WiFi in your house or are wondering what Wardriving is and why you should care, check out Jeff Duntemann’s new book “Drive-By Wi-Fi Guide.” I haven’t read the book yet, but I enjoy his ContraPositive weblog and online guide to the book here.
I haven’t taken my Tablet PC out for a drive to see what access I can find by roaming the streets. It makes me uneasy to snoop around for access. But, of course, when I’m out and about and need access, I don’t have any trouble flipping on the Tablet PC to see if I can get to the Net. Most times I can’t.
Here’s a Wardriving map of WiFi access points in the Phoenix area that I found. Gulp! I guess it goes to show how popular WiFi has become.
