Updated Google desktop search

by LCH on March 7, 2005

Google has updated their desktop search. I’m downloading now. I hope its indexing performance is reasonable. Fingers crossed.

I also see that Google is releasing a plugin SDK for the desktop tool. It supports a COM and XML interface. Cool. A new product and already an SDK.

I see that people are requesting in the Google forum all types of plugins. Hmm. I’m going to guess that there are lots of ink-enabled file formats that are unsearchable and closed. There will be lots of opportunity here for some adventuresome Tablet developers I bet.
