New Acer Tablet doesn’t do the twist

by LCH on September 18, 2005

InfoSyncWorld reports on the new C200 Tablet PC from Acer.

What’s unique about this one? It has a display that folds down over the keyboard rather than one that twists around.

Yep, Tablet innovations are continuing to mount up. My guess is 2006 is going to be an impressive year for Tablets. First there are designs such as the new Acer C200, the Fujitsu P1500 with touch display, Vista is pending, and on top of this Intel will be introducing the handtops that’ll be running Vista (and presumably Tablet enabled too).

I’m not sure I’d call that an innovation. IBM used that exact design on Thinkpads back in the Windows for Pen Computing era. I had one of those things until a few years ago. http://www.aichi.to/~thinkpad/tp360p/ Sharp also had a Windows CE based device at one point that did the same thing.

Thanks for pointing this out. I guess some innovations are more innovative than others….or are they :-) ?
