FastCompany.tv launches

Monday, March 3rd, 2008

Robert Scoble’s new video series has launched at http://www.fastcompany.tv/, however, as of this time the site isn’t responding. I’m guessing they are still making some last minute tweaks or the traffic load is overwhelming the servers. On Robert’s blog he recommends, “If you’re not having a good experience, please check back later in the day.”  Will do.

I’m particularly interested in watching Robert’s interview with the Worldwide Telescope team at Microsoft Research.

Robert Scoble moves to FastCompany.tv

Wednesday, January 16th, 2008

Robert Scoble is on the move again…to the new video venture, FastCompany.tv, which will launch March 3. This sounds like an ideal match for his talents. I particularly like his concept of involving the “viewer” as a participant.

“… most of the TV (either mainstream, like CNBC, or “new” like that from Revision3 or elsewhere) treats viewers as, well, viewers. The thing is that the new technology lets you PARTICIPATE with the people who are in front of the camera. You got a taste of this while I was walking around CES with a cell phone and you could ask questions WHILE I WAS FILMING LIVE. That really changes the equation a lot and that’ll be a key differentiator on FastCompany.tv.”

I think he’s onto something here. This is bound to be one of the most anticipated online video launches of the year–scratch that probably of the traditional broadcast medium and online venue combined. Can’t wait to watch.
